Library director defends pornographic book on 'BDSM,' 'kink,' calling it 'fantastic' and 'a treasure.'

"Really, this book is a treasure," said the library director about a book that teaches kids about 'fluid-bonding,' BDSM, and kinky sex.

The director of the Garden Valley District Library is defending her decision to offer a sexually explicit book promoting kinky sex, BDSM, "fluid-bonding," and transgenderism to minors, saying the book is "fantastic" and "a treasure." The director, Kerri Hart, also defended numerous other books in the Garden Valley library pushing gender identity and sexuality on children, claiming it would be "censorship" not to allow minors to access these explicit books.

The IFF’s Center for American Education has obtained public records showing that our recent report on school libraries has prompted some Garden Valley residents to urge the local library to reform its collection such that it is appropriate for the school-aged children who use it. The Garden Valley Library offers numerous obscene books to minors including "Let’s Talk About It: The Teen's Guide to Sex, Relationships, and Being a Human," "S.E.X: The All-You-Need-to-Know Progressive Sexuality Guide to Get You Through Your Teens and Twenties," "This Book is Gay," "All Boys Aren't Blue," and "Beyond Magenta." The library also provides books on transgenderism for children ages four to eight years old such as "Julian is a Mermaid." Some of these books are available as e-books, allowing children to download them onto their electronic devices perhaps without their parents’ knowledge.

The sexually explicit and subversive content in these books has been well documented (see here and here). Let us focus on the book "S.E.X." which Hart called "fantastic" and "a treasure."

Written by Heather Corinna, “S.E.X.” contains claims like “masturbation is the bomb” and sections like “How do you masturbate?” It has sections on sexual fantasies or how to stimulate multiple orgasms.

“S.E.X.” encourages “kink” and has detailed instructions for how to stimulate sexual pleasure. For example, the book features tips on practices like BDSM (“some people self-restrain during masturbation. Others use rope or cord[...]”), how to “talk dirty” for cybersex, analingus, and blood or body fluid play.

One portion describes how “some people enjoy any number of body fluids sexually: ejaculate, vaginal fluids, menses, urine or blood.” It goes on to describe “golden showers” and notes that “fluid play may be enjoyable because a certain intimacy or sacredness is experienced in ‘fluid-bonding.’”

It promotes alternative sexual lifestyles and laments that gender norms may determine it’s not “‘manly’ for men to enjoy receptive anal sex.”

The book also describes identity as something that’s fairly malleable and detached from both biological reality and any philosophical or theological system. For example, it starts with the pledge: “I pledge allegiance… to myself and the united state of my sexuality.” What follows, though, is not a united and coherent vision of sexuality but rather a confusing array of sexual behaviors and identities — including ones that fly in the face of traditional ideas about bodily and sexual integrity.

It encourages teens to disintegrate into a morass of sexual inclinations before deciding on one, even if it is inherently unstable or formless. “S.E.X.” declares that “each person’s sexual self is not only often shifting and evolving,” later adding that “‘I’m attracted to whom I’m attracted to, and I don’t know or care why’ is also a sexual orientation.” It says that terms for sexual identity can include “kinky, polyamorous, slut, asexual, vanilla, tutti-frutti, and so on.”

“S.E.X.” urges readers to “subvert the status quo” and contains a section on “How to Be Transfriendly and Subvert Crummy Gender and Orientation Stereotypes in Five Easy Steps.” Groups like Planned Parenthood get a shout-out from “S.E.X.,” which promotes abortion and sterilization as options for readers.

The book promotes the concept of friends with benefits and goes so far as suggesting that “what it means to be a virgin really can only be defined by you.” It also suggests readers “might give some thought to abandoning the concept of virginity altogether.” The book adds: “However nicely, or in different contexts, it is presented by some now, it is an idea that, throughout history, has been sexist, heterosexist, classist, and oppressive, and virginity as an ideal has actually done the opposite of what many would aspire to do: it has devalued sexuality and intimacy–and women–rather than making them more valuable.”

According to Hart, "S.E.X." has circulated at least three times in the library.

Kerri Hart and the Garden Valley District Library Board of Trustees did not respond for comment at the time of publishing.

It's unclear why any public official would think it’s appropriate to teach kids about BDSM or how to masturbate or normalize transgenderism. Most taxpayers would be appalled to find out that a library district is so willing to distribute material harmful to kids. Yet public employees continue to defend the provision of obscene materials to minors instead of upholding their moral and legal obligation to protect children.

Although residents can continue to file complaints about obscene content available to children in their public library, the board will make the ultimate decision on whether or not to reform their book collection. The next meeting of the Garden Valley District Library Board will take place in October.

Anyone promoting the filth and immoral, mentally unbalanced materials mentioned in the article are certainly not fit to be associated with our public schools or libraries. Let’s cut through the sugar-coated semantics and get right to the point. The sexually perverted materials entering some of our schools is demonically influenced and satanic in nature. It is designed to corrupt and mislead our very impressionable youth. This fact is not open to debate. It is time to call out this dangerous and damaging material for exactly what it is - the product of sick minds and lost souls. Rise up parents, guardians, teachers, school administrators and clergy. Now is the time to square off with the purveyors of this filth and make it known they will not drag our children into their morally warped, disgusting and dark world. Idaho says “NO!”

Normal adults don't teach little children about kinky sex, only pedos and perverts do. Normal adults don not groom children to HAVE sex when they are underage, only perverts and pedos do. This woman is either a pedo or a pervert... or both.

  • KJ says:

And in all of this, where is brad little?

  • Jeffrey S. Jensen says:

What's next? A guide for minors and 4 to 8-year-olds to alcohol and drugs? There is a reason these contrabands are withheld from children; their organs have not fully developed & are still growing. These substances will actually harm a child's health. The same goes for sexually explicit materials. Children should be thinking about school & playing games that emulate life such as cowboys & Indians, firemen, nurses, and playing army soldiers. How is it that this carpet-munching queer has the right to say what is right for your children? Fire this communistic woke liberal big piece of feces & use some common sense next time you hire a librarian. Ms. Hart, leave here and move to Western Oregon or Seattle where you'll be welcomed by your fellow perverts!

Any parent who still has a child enrolled in that school district is part of the problem. Parents are responsible for protecting their children...period.

    • Steven Wallace says:

Correction: Any parent...who allows their child to enter a public library or be enrolled in any school district where child sexual grooming books are available...is the problem. Parents are responsible for protecting their children...period.

  • O.P. says:

This is going on in IDAHO!!!

    Where are the parents?!?

Where is Brad Little and the Republicans in the Idaho Congress & Senate?!?

If this was in my local library, I would file police reports against everyone involved, sue them and demonstrate in front of their door every day until this filth is removed!!!

  • Aimless says:

Thank you IFF for the work you do and highlighting these books. Unfortunately parents are unaware what has been allowed into school libraries unless they see their child has checked the book out. Are parents expected to look at every piece of literature in the school library before letting their child attend? I’m so tired of the literary decision makers defending these books by saying it gives great opportunity for family discussions to happen. The respondent defending the books has an obvious bias that comes through and feels like disdain for parents who dare question the content.

  • Truther says:

Bet there aren't any Bibles offered in these libraries!!
THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO PULL YOUR KIDS OUT...NOW!!
THE SCHOOL HOUSE IS ON "FIRE!"

    • Bobby W says:

It wasnt a school. A community library. Why would you rush to pull a kid out of school based on this article?

      • Brad Gee says:

because that is what Sean Hannity says to do, and I want to know where you go to learn about this stuff, watch porn?

      • Steven Wallace says:

That is an excellent question. There is, currently, a nationwide spotlight on child sexual grooming and trafficking that has finally garnered the attention of many parents who've been otherwise occupied with making a living, moving up the corporate ladder, and planning their future. Parents, nationwide, have been arrested at school board meetings, placed on watch lists, etc. for expressing their opposition. Public schools, in general, have become more successful at promoting social justice conformity than they have been at teaching reading, writing, arithmetic, and critical thinking. In answer to your question, why wouldn't a responsible parent pull their kids out of school based on this article? The trend, currently, is favoring the sexual grooming of kids. A parent can choose to wait until a situation develops and risk harm to their child or they can be proactive and prevent their child from being harmed. A parent would be justified in pulling their child out of public school based on overall test scores across the state. The child sexual grooming issue has become the final straw.

Not everyone, including you, will agree with this answer, but there are many concerned parents out there that would like to see the woke awaken out of their social justice conformity and give kids, at a minimum, the same degree of consideration they give their dry cleaning.
