The Idaho Senate approved a proclamation that's passed the House honoring the city of Garden City and Ada County for their roles in honoring the Chinese heritage of the area. Senators approved the measure with a unanimous voice. Sen. Les Bock, D-Boise, who serves Garden City, spoke briefly on behalf of the history of Chinese-Americans in the area.
