According to national credit bureaus like Fitch, Idaho has some of the healthiest fiscal policy in the nation. But these ratings are misleading. The Gem State is largely relying upon federal money to pay the bills. With expanding social programs, ongoing spending growing unsustainably, and a rapidly expanding bureaucracy, Idaho is on the same path to destruction as its counterparts in Washington, DC. This presentation provides an overview of Idaho's fiscal health, how it affects Idahoans, and how legislators can put the state on the right path in 2024.
