The city of Post Falls is considering using urban renewal rebate money to assist with its budget challenges, according to a story in the Coeur d'Alene Press.
The city says, for example, that there have been no raises for employees for a number of years and would like to use $890,000 in rebate money for salary increases and other items in the city budget. But the city admits the funding would be one-time only due to the sunsetting of the urban renewals district, which will pose funding problems in future budgets.
