Kootenai County commissioners have voted 2-1 to place a measure on the ballot in November to change the county's form of government by hiring a county manager to oversee county matters, according to a story in the Coeur d'Alene Press.
Not only would the manager be in charge of the day-to-day operations of the county, but a number of now elected position in the county would become appointments by the manager. These include the clerk, treasurer, assessor and coroner.
