Hughes Investments has been awarded $675,000 in a suit against the Idaho Transportation Department for 16 acres of right of way. According to the Coeur d' Alene Press, that is significantly less that the original $3 million that Hughes sought, and later $2 million that was requested.
Hughes is planning a travel center near Highway 54 and U.S. 95 near Athol. ITD is undertaking a major road-widening project costing around $21 million.
The attorney for Hughes says his client was awarded far less money than what market value showed as $2.5 million.
