Gov. Otter tells agencies to expect cuts in federal funding

Gov. Butch Otter has told state agencies that he would like them to plan their budgets with a 20 percent reduction in federal government funds, according to the Idaho Statesman.

Otter's budget chief asked agencies to give them a record of all federal grants by Aug 1. House Minority Leader John Rusche, R-Lewiston, said he believes the request is part of a political game about blaming Obama and Democrats, but also said, "If we get ourselves ready and look at what the consequences are, we can make better decisions."
