A private prison in Colorado has agreed to take up to 768 medium security male inmates to ease prison overcrowding in Idaho, says a story in the Coeur d'Alene Press.

The Idaho Department of Corrections reports that its inmate number is more than 8,000, with 500 prisoners added to the population in the last year. The state is expected to send 450 inmates to the Colorado facility during July and August.
