BOISE, ID – (December 23, 2025) – As Idaho families gather to celebrate the Christmas holiday and prepare for the new year, the Idaho Freedom Foundation (IFF) today announced it will host a press conference to outline our 2026 Freedom & Family Agenda. Following the successful launch of our agenda in September, this press conference will be a shift from vision to execution. The IFF is getting the message out that the 2026 legislative session should be defined by bold, measurable results that will put Idaho’s families first.

To set the tone for the new year, the IFF will convene a legislative kickoff event to outline the policy goals we encourage the Legislature to prioritize in the 2026 legislative session. The presentation will be in the second-floor rotunda of the Idaho State Capitol on Friday, January 9, 2026, starting promptly at 2:00 p.m.

“We released our policy roadmap in September to show we are serious about making Idaho a safer and freer state to live in,” said Ron Nate, President of the Idaho Freedom Foundation. “Now, as we head into the 2026 session, we are shifting into high gear. Now is the time to mobilize Idahoans to engage in the legislative process. It is imperative that as many Idahoans as possible join us to find out how they can advocate for these policies and ensure our representatives put them first.”

The IFF plan for the 2026 session focuses on seven critical pillars designed to restore the Gem State:

1. Serious tax reduction by moving to abolish the property tax, reduce income tax, and repeal the grocery tax to keep more money in the pockets of Idaho families.

2. Cutting government spending by taking a chainsaw to wasteful programs and repealing Medicaid expansion to return to pre-COVID spending levels.

3. Restoring Idaho sovereignty by advocating for state control of our lands and the passage of the Defend the Guard Act to protect our National Guard from federal overreach.

4. Safeguarding against illegal immigration by pushing to prohibit non-citizens from public institutions, ensuring total election integrity, and combating related costs.

5. Defending health freedom by ending all vaccine mandates and bringing much-needed transparency to geoengineering and weather modification.

6. Protecting Idaho families and children by protecting life, reforming Child Protective Services, and ensuring judicial accountability for Idaho’s next generation.

7. Reforming education by expanding educational freedom and ensuring public education honors our American and Western heritage.

By holding the press conference right ahead of the session, the IFF is providing Idahoans with the tools they need to effectively engage their representatives. The 2026 session will not be business as usual. Members of the media and the public are encouraged to attend.
