Nampa, Idaho – Idaho Freedom Foundation Executive Director Wayne Hoffman today applauded Nampa Mayor Tom Dale and the City of Nampa for becoming the second Idaho city to become more transparent by disclosing details of the city’s spending records on a website.
“This is fantastic news for Nampa taxpayers, including me,” said Hoffman. “Nampa’s plans will let city taxpayers know how much the city spent on every single check and every single credit card transaction. It will let taxpayers know who is receiving their money, and, to some degree, what those expenditures were for. This information will be available at any time, any day from any computer anywhere. That’s accountability and transparency in government that Nampans can be proud to support.”
The Idaho Freedom Foundation has been in ongoing discussions with Dale and other city officials regarding IFF’s request to obtain city spending records for the organization’s soon-to-be-unveiled transparency in government website.
In January, the City of Eagle began posting expenditure data on its website.
