On Tuesday, Idaho Freedom Foundation President Wayne Hoffman responded to the Idaho Supreme Court’s 4-1 ruling that upheld Gov. Butch Otter’s veto of a bill to repeal Idaho’s burdensome grocery tax.
Hoffman pledged:
“We know that repealing the grocery tax has broad appeal, and we know that our continued work on this issue will, eventually, yield the results we have long been looking for.”
Hoffman added:
‘We applaud Rep. Ron Nate, Rep. Bryan Zollinger and the other 28 lawmakers who signed onto the lawsuit, and attorney Bryan Smith who argued the case. They stuck their necks out for taxpayers. Such political courage is rare and deserves recognition.”
He concluded:
“Moving forward, the Idaho Freedom Foundation will continue to educate lawmakers and candidates for office on the need to pass sensible, conservative tax policies that benefit the people of Idaho.”
