HB 379 - Non-profit incorporators

HB 379 - Non-profit incorporators

by
Phil Haunschild
February 1, 2018

Bill description: HB 379 would allow only one incorporator to sign articles of incorporation for a non-profit rather than every incorporator which is currently required.

Rating: +1

Does it directly or indirectly create or increase any taxes, fees, or other assessments? Conversely, does it eliminate or reduce any taxes, fees, or other assessments?

In order to incorporate a business, non-profit, or other organization in Idaho, the entity must file forms with the office of the Secretary of State. For non-profits, the form required to incorporate requires information such as the names of every director and incorporator, the type of organization, in addition to a signature from every incorporator. This change in HB 379 would make it easier to file these articles of incorporation with the Secretary of State by requiring that only one incorporator sign, rather than each one.
