Bill Description: This bill will reduce fees for making changes to water rights.

This bill would establish a lower fee when the holder of a water right wants to make a minor clerical change to the title that they hold. Currently, such changes would cost a minimum of $200, and the cost increases depending on the size of the right. HB 372 would reduce such changes to a flat $50 fee.

Reducing this cost would allow for the proper changes to water rights, and would ensure that the owners of these rights are able to get the proper use out of them. If they cannot make these updates to their points of diversion or the places of use it can make it difficult to track them to their full extent.
