As they say, if you're taking flak, you're over the target.
For the last six months, Frank VanderSloot has been taking aim at me and the Idaho Freedom Foundation, and he does so again in his email to you.
Why? Because IFF has been successful these last 12 years defending conservative principles. We do so day in and day out. We never abandon the defense of our constitutionally-protected rights. In fact, all of the factors IFF looks at when analyzing public policy might sound familiar to you if you've read and the Republican Party platform. Do you believe in limited government? Low taxes? Less regulation? So do we!
You'll have to ask Frank why that is a problem for him.
Of course, Frank says he supports conservative principles, too. But his version of conservatism allows him to abandon those same principles when it is politically expedient. It allows for special interests such as himself to wield power and restrict constitutionally-protected rights for his own purposes. That's not conservatism. That's cronyism. (Side note: No company spent more money lobbying the state Legislature in 2020 than Frank's. He spent almost $69,000. IFF spent less than a couple hundred dollars.)
Roughly 96% of IFF's donors call Idaho home. We are on a mission to stop socialism and free people from government control by presenting innovative solutions and honest conservative analysis of issues facing our state. We will never back down from our mission, no matter what bad stuff Frank dreams up about us.
