Monsato Co., which makes the well-known Round-Up products, has convinced Idaho lawmakers to hear a bill that would require utilities to provide estimates on rate costs due to large expenditures 20 years down the road, according to the Idaho Statesman.
Monsato feels there should be more transparency and disclosure, following a battle with Rocky Mountain Power last year over fee increases. Rocky Mountain Power says that, other than sensitive commercial information, they already have a 20-year plan available to the public.
In addition to Rocky Mountain Power, Idaho Power is also against the bill.
