Does it give government any new, additional, or expanded power to prohibit, restrict, or regulate activities in the free market? Conversely, does it eliminate or reduce government intervention in the market?
Section 54-2113(1), Idaho Code, places significant restrictions on the corporate practice of veterinary medicine, saying, "A veterinary medical practice may be conducted only as a sole proprietorship, as a partnership or as a professional entity as defined in part 9, chapter 21, title 30, Idaho Code. No business corporation, other than a professional entity, shall be organized for the practice of veterinary medicine or shall provide veterinary medical services."
House Bill 105 would amend this subsection to say, "A veterinary medical practice may be conducted as a sole proprietorship, as a professional entity as defined in part 9, chapter 21, title 30, Idaho Code, or as any other entity as defined by part 1, chapter 21, title 30, Idaho Code."
That part of code mentions the following entities: a business corporation; nonprofit corporation; general partnership, including a limited liability partnership; limited partnership, including a limited liability limited partnership; limited liability company; general cooperative association; limited cooperative association; unincorporated nonprofit association; statutory trust, business trust, and common-law business trust.
Removing some of the restrictions on how veterinary medical practices may be operated reduces government intervention in the market.
