TracFone to provide low-income service in Idaho

TracFone to provide low-income service in Idaho

A disagreement between TracFone and the state has been settled that will allow the company to receive funding from federal and state low-income programs.

According to the Idaho Statesman, TracFone applied to receive funding in 2010 but was denied because it uses a prepaid cards and customers are not required to pay, meaning money wouldn't go into the Idaho Telephone Service Assistance Fund and Lifeline, which the state said was a violation.
