The sage grouse task force, which has 16 members appointed by the governor, has until June 1 to come up with a plan to keep sage grouse off the endangered list, according to the Idaho Statesman.
By forming the task force and looking at how to keep them off the list, state officials hope to avoid the federal government stepping in and mandating what to do. The task force has members from energy, agriculture and conservation groups. Though, conservation groups feel they are underrepresented.
