The Idaho Senate Wednesday unanimously approved legislation that would give middle school students a grade on their high school transcript if they complete a high school-level class before starting ninth grade. Currently, students can only get credit for the class, but a good grade can't help their grade point average.
“This bill is an encouragement of gifted students,” said Sen. Dean Mortimer, R-Idaho Falls. “It’s something we’re doing to encourage those students to take these courses early.”
