SB 1310 - Ambulance attendant licenses

SB 1310 - Ambulance attendant licenses

by
Phil Haunschild
February 22, 2018

Bill description: SB 1310 would allow an Emergency Medical Responder to serve on an ambulance in place of an Emergency Medical Technician.

Rating: +1

Does it give government any new, additional, or expanded power to prohibit, restrict, or regulate activities in the free market? Conversely, does it eliminate or reduce government intervention in the market?

SB 1310 would allow emergency medical service providers more flexibility in how they staff ambulances for transporting patients. Currently, there must be at least two crew members on the ambulance, one of whom must be a licensed Emergency Medical Technician. SB 1310 would allow a licensed Emergency Medical Responder with an ambulance certification to serve in place of the technician.
