The Idaho Senate Wednesday voiced support for the state’s local food growers. The non-binding resolution urges Idahoans to get to know their local growers and to buy and eat more food that is grown in or near Idaho.
“We can help our fellow Idahoans by buying local,” said Sen. Joyce Broadsword, R-Sagle
“Food is really personal,” said Sen. Nicole LeFavour, D-Boise. “It’s part of who we are and it’s one of the great things about Idaho.” She added that buying food grown in Idaho and going to farmers markets can help the state’s economy. She said the increase in farmers markets is exciting.
