Commissioners in Kootenai County, faced with inmate overcrowding and the expense of sending its prisoners to other facilities, have taken another step in pursuing construction of a private jail, reports the Coeur d'Alene Press.
Rocky Mountain Corrections made a presentation to the commissioners in June. Now the county has asked the private company for more details on funding a jail for the county with private funds.
