Eighteen months and nearly $500,000 later, commissioners in Kootenai County will consider suspending the collection of impact fees, according to a story in the Coeur d'Alene Press.
The fees were approved in February 2011 and are assessed to commercial and residential builders to help fund a variety of services including fire and highway districts and emergency medical services.
But commissioners say the fees are a burden to collect and in some instances prevent development in the county.
