A north Idaho judge heard testimony Friday on a case in which a Coeur d"Alene woman charges that she was libeled in comments made on website operated by the Spokesman-Review. She is asking the court for the name of the commenter who accused her of stealing money from the local Republican Party. She also wants the names of two others who she believes are witnesses to the offense, according to the Coeur d'Alene Press.
An attorney for the Spokane newspaper says the identities should be protected under the First Amendment.
The judge did not indicate when he might rule on the request to reveal the names of the three persons on the blog.
