Do you love state and local politics? Are you interested in learning the ins and outs of Idaho state and local government policy and how they affect the everyday lives of Gem State residents? The Idaho Freedom Foundation, based in Boise, Idaho, looks for a research intern to assist the Senior Director of Policy in its Idaho Falls field office. IFF has a fast-paced work environment and seeks a talented, innovative, detail-oriented and self-motivated intern.
The ideal candidate is someone interested in state and local policy who also has a rudimentary understanding of the political process. IFF looks for someone who is eager to learn, believes in free-markets, limited government, government transparency and accountability.
The Idaho Freedom Foundation is the state’s only conservative think tank. We pride ourselves on encouraging the free exchange of ideas in a fluid work environment.
The Idaho Freedom Foundation values its interns and its staff members do what they can to help IFF interns achieve their career goals. The selected research intern will become more knowledgeable about state and local politics and have a better understanding of the world around him or her. An IFF intern will also hone his or her professional work environment skills, as well as engage with state and local officials and their staff. Further, as an IFF intern, you will gain a better understanding of how to use state and local resources to conduct research.
Internship hours are flexible; they can be tailored to fit school, athletic and work schedules. Internships are unpaid positions; however, IFF will, to the best of its ability, work with those students who wish to receive academic credit for their internship.
