In March a report was released as a result of a federal court order saying that the Idaho State Correctional Institution medical care is inhumane and in serious need of an overhaul. Last week, the state responded to the report, according to the Idaho Statesman.
The Idaho Department of Corrections says that the report was grossly inaccurate and that the doctor who performed the review picked out specific cases that were bad, rather than a random sampling.
The state also says that between the doctor's first and second visits, changes were made to improve the health care situation. The doctor did not take these into consideration during his review, which the state says violates an order from the courts to the doctor.
