The official re-dedication of the Idaho State Capitol Building will be held today at noon on the steps of the building. The event will last about thirty minutes and will feature speeches from Governor Butch Otter, Senate Pro Tempore Robert Geddes, and Speaker of the House Lawerence Denney. Following the ceremony, the Capitol will be open for tours by the general public.
For those not able to attend, Idaho Public Television will carry the event live. Please to IPTV's website for more information and scheduling.
Though not officially recognized as a part of the opening ceremonies, the Interfaith Alliance of Idaho will hold a prayer circle on the first floor of the Capitol at 2 pm. Read more about it here.
The renovation cost Idaho taxpayers $127 million and took about two years to complete. The Capitol is located at 700 West Jefferson in downtown Boise.
