Idaho will have a new speaker of the House when the 2013 legislative session convenes in January, according to a story in the Idaho Statesman. Lawerence Denney, R-Midvale, did not survive a challenge to his speaker post from Rep. Scott Bedke, R-Oakley.
The 57-member GOP House voted for the change, considered rare in Idaho politics. The vote count is not released, only the fact that Denney lost, Bedke won.
