The House Revenue and Taxation Committee approved a proposal that would provide a one-year sales tax exemption for non-profit homeless shelter. The tax break is sponsored by Rep. Branden Durst, D-Boise, and could cost the state budget $15,000.
The plan now heads to the house floor for potential amendments and a vote.
