House Bill 533 — Vehicle registration stickers (+1)

House Bill 533 — Vehicle registration stickers (+1)

Bill Description: House Bill 533 would remove the requirement that vehicles display a registration sticker, but keep other registration requirements and fees in place.

Rating: +1

Does it increase government spending (for objectionable purposes) or debt? Conversely, does it decrease government spending or debt?

House Bill 533 would amend nine sections of Idaho Code to remove references to vehicle registration stickers and the obligation to obtain and affix them to license plates.

The bill’s statement of purpose estimates this will save $300,000 due to “the elimination of materials and production costs associated with registration stickers.”

Additionally, it could save vehicle owners a small amount of time and inconvenience.
