House Bill 137 — Voting, affidavit, repeal

House Bill 137 — Voting, affidavit, repeal

Bill Description: House Bill 137 would prevent a signed affidavit from being used in lieu of a valid ID at the polls.

Rating: +1

Does it in any way restrict public access to information related to government activity or otherwise compromise government transparency, accountability, or election integrity? Conversely, does it increase public access to information related to government activity or increase government transparency, accountability, or election integrity?

House Bill 124 would repeal Section 34-1114, Idaho Code, which allows voters to complete an affidavit in lieu of showing personal identification when voting at the polls. This change should improve the security of elections by finally closing a loophole to the voter ID requirement in Idaho
