House Bill 095 — Ballot identification (+1)

Bill Description: House Bill 95 would require unique alphanumeric marks on individual election ballots.

Rating: +1

Does it in any way restrict public access to information related to government activity or otherwise compromise government transparency, accountability, or election integrity? Conversely, does it increase public access to information related to government activity or increase government transparency, accountability, or election integrity?

House Bill 95 would amend Section 34-901, Idaho Code, to require that each election ballot used in Idaho contain "a unique alphanumeric identifier printed on each ballot to prevent duplication of official election ballots."

Ensuring that ballots cannot be duplicated is an important component of election integrity.
