Rep. Marv Hagedorn, R-Meridian, is looking for a new seat in the Idaho Statehouse.
Hagedorn told IdahoReporter.com Monday that he is planning a run for the Idaho Senate, a move coming after redistricting put him in a new district.
Under the new redistricting plan, Hagedorn shares his district with Rep. Mike Moyle, R-Eagle, and Rep. Reed DeMourdaunt, R-Star. There is no senator in the district. The senator previously grouped with Moyle and DeMourdaunt, Sen. Chuck Winder, R-Boise, was put into Hagedorn’s old district.
Hagedorn said he’s discussed his new district with Moyle and DeMourdaunt and decided he would be the one to try for the open Senate seat. Moyle is likely staying put in order to stay in line to be speaker of the House, a job he almost tried for after the last election.
