There they go again…the same people that brought 34 new congressional districts to Idaho, have now moved the cities of Spokane, Portland and Great Falls to the Gem State!
Recovery.gov, the Obama Administration’s website which bills itself as “the U.S. government’s official website providing easy access to data related to Recovery Act spending and allows for the reporting of potential fraud, waste, and abuse”, has broken down the amount of jobs allegedly created in Idaho, and the dollar amount associated with them, by zip code. Among the Idaho zip codes listed are 99201 (Spokane), 97222 (Portland), 59405 (Great Falls), and one zip code that doesn’t even exist (82814), according to the US Postal Service’s zip code locator.
In all, $1,536,926 in stimulus dollars went to those “new” Idaho cities (and the city that doesn’t exist), and three jobs allegedly were created. Those three jobs were all in Spokane “Idaho”, though, as the stimulus dollars going to Portland “Idaho”, Great Falls “Idaho”, and Does Not Exist “Idaho” created no jobs at all!
If cities are being relocated about the country like pieces on a chess board, and new congressional districts are being created out of thin air, then maybe President Obama was on to something when he said, on May 9, 2008, that his campaign had taken him to 57 states, with one more to go. He made that comment in Beaverton, Oregon…which was still in Oregon the last we looked.
