Funding formula, student fees now both causes of action in schools' suit

Funding formula, student fees now both causes of action in schools' suit

An Associated Press story in the Idaho Falls Post Register says a lawsuit challenging student fees in Idaho has added another cause of action claiming that a 2005 Idaho Supreme Court decision is being violated in that the state is not providing an equal opportunity for students to receive a public school education.

Former Nampa school superintendent Russ Joki filed the original suit in Ada County challenging student fees, but now has added what he says is a violation of the court's decision about what constitutes a fair public education funding distribution in the state.
