Utah-based Five Wives Vodka in May found itself in the middle of a dispute with liquor officials in Idaho when its name and its logo were deemed inappropriate, says a story in the Idaho Statesman. Liquor officials also said the vodka did not bring anything new to the Idaho market.
But under threat of a lawsuit and a public outcry that the treatment of Five Wives was unfair, the state relented. In July some 90 cases of the product were sold, which is not a high number by liquor dispensary standards, but was enough to cause a reorder of the product.
