In a story in the Idaho Statesman, motorists who are pulled over and don't have proof of insurance will now be able to show law enforcement officials they do via a smart phone or electronic device.
Every year, thousands of tickets are written for drivers failing to have a current insurance card in their vehicles. Many of the tickets are dropped later when drivers send in their proof of insurance.
With smartphones being so capable of doing pretty much anything these days, insurance companies have started making apps that have a digital proof of insurance card.
