A dwelling in Bonner County approved for construction in 1994 is now the subject of a grant request of $650,000 by the county to the Federal Emergency Management Agency to purchase the home and destroy it, according to a story in the Bonner County Daily Bee in Sandpoint.
The 3,700 square-foot home and an outbuilding are now deemed to reside in a floodway of two migrating rivers and the county says the home and outbuilding are safety hazards in the event of a flood.
The county is applying for the funds through the Idaho Department of Homeland Security.
