Arrowhead Potato Co. has received a grant from the federal government to help track where potatoes are being shipped, according to the Idaho Statesman. One of the rationales for the grant is that n the event that there is a health scare, tracking shipments can help the company locate its potatoes and contain the situation.
The grant was for $300,000 and will cover costs, including software, training, equipment, and labels used to keep track of the shipments.
The federal government has given out $40.2 million in similar grants within the last month throughout the United States.
