A bill that would take away the ability to charge fees for emergency responders who respond to accidents passed the House 54-7 Friday, according to the Idaho Statesman.
Rep. Christy Perry, R-Nampa, sponsored the bill, saying allowing fees to be charged is lke having a double tax since taxpayer dollars already go to fund emergency services.
The legislation does not apply to towing and ambulance services. The bill now heads to the Senate.
