On Monday the House approved a bill that would limit the amount the state can spend from the general fund, according to the Idaho Statesman. The bill passed 48-21.
The bill would cap the rate at 5.3 percent of what Idahoans make, dropping it a percent down from 6.3.
Should the state collect revenue above the projected amount, it would be required that the extra monies go into rainy day accounts and be used for tax relief.
