On Friday, the abortion ultrasound mandate bill was delayed one legislative day for time concerns, according to the Idaho Statesman. Senate Majority Leader Bart Davis, R-Idaho Falls, had promised the Senate would adjourn at noon so legislators who had earlier flights scheduled could make them
The bill would require women to have an ultrasound before terminating a pregnancy. Proponents of the bill feel the measure would encourage women to think twice before terminating a pregnancy. Those opposing the bill say it is invasion of their right to privacy.
The bill was not singled out. Several other bills were pushed back until next week as well.
