On Monday the Senate State Affairs Committee passed a bill that allows patients who wish to prolong their life the opportunity to do so, according to the Times-News. Currently in Idaho, a doctor or nurse can refuse treatment if they have looked for someone who is willing to keep the patient alive and were unable to do so.

The bill allows patients to extend their lives as long as they want if they choose, regardless of what a doctor make think. The bill, following a number of amendments, was supported by the Idaho Medical Association.
