After wells were drilled in 2010 in Payette County, where it was discovered there was natural gas, concerns have come from counties and local governments as to regulations concerning the natural gas industry. Local governments want local control.
On Thursday the House Resources and Conservation Committee voted 16-0 to send House Bill 464 to the floor that would give the regulating power to the Idaho Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. The commission would have final say on regulatory powers concerning the production of natural gas.
