Bill Description: House Bill 572 would expand protections and reinforce the rights of parents and guardians to oversee the medical and social upbringing of their children by prohibiting “covered entities” such as schools and healthcare providers from secretly facilitating a minor's medical sex transition or “social transition."

Rating: +2

Does it in any way restrict public access to information related to government activity or otherwise compromise government transparency, accountability, or election integrity? Conversely, does it increase public access to information related to government activity or increase government transparency, accountability, or election integrity?

House Bill 572 would increase both government transparency and accountability by creating a new section of Idaho code designated 32-1016 “Pediatric Secretive Transitions Parental Rights Act.” The law states that “a covered entity shall not withhold information from a child’s parent or guardian related to the parent’s child’s expressed interest in or desire for sex transition procedures.” This increases transparency by compelling government agencies, among others, to divulge information to parents about their children’s medical and social status.

The law would also provide civil remedies for any violations, increasing schools and other government agencies’ accountability. The attorney general “shall have the authority to investigate allegations of violations of this section” and award civil penalties amounting to $100,000. It additionally provides a cause of action for aggrieved parties to pursue certain relief including compensatory damages.

Does it promote the breakdown of the traditional family or the deconstruction of societal norms? Examples include promoting or incentivizing degeneracy, violating parental rights, and compromising the innocence of children. Conversely, does it protect or uphold the structure, tenets, and traditional values of Western society?

House Bill 572 would also prohibit a covered entity from facilitating or contributing “to a child’s efforts to obtain sex transition procedures without the express written consent of such child’s parent or guardian.” Not only does this uphold the most fundamental of parental rights, it also protects the innocence of children from the undue influence of educators and doctors by preventing secret gender transitions. Both parental rights and the very structure of Western civilization demand that children be free from harmful influences in the most trusted spaces outside the home, those being the schools and the doctor’s office. Any person who attempts to violate this trust undermines the fundamental tenets required to maintain a functioning Western society.

Further, the Bill protects against the erosion of the traditional values of Western society by levying fines and penalties against those who would seek to undermine the family structure and permanently mutilate children both physically and mentally. By shielding children from these dangerous Ideologies and harmful procedures, this bill upholds the great biological and philosophical truths that underpin all of traditional Western civilization.
