The Workforce Development Training Fund, which gives money to companies for help with training employees, gave $1.7 million to Transform Solar, Nampa, to train 205 employees, according to the Idaho Statesman.

Transform Solar closed down and laid off 250 employees this week. The market for solar energy has declined rapidly over the last year or so, and part of the reason the company had to close was because it was no longer getting as much in subsidies from the government.
