Legislation introduced reducing regulation on brewery ownership

Legislation introduced reducing regulation on brewery ownership

Rep. Shawn Keough, R-Sandpoint, has introduced legislation that would lift some regulations regarding ownership of breweries and bars in Idaho, according to the Idaho Press-Tribune. At least one ownership problem has occurred in recent months because of law in Idaho.

The owner of Laughing Dog Brewery had to forego his co-ownership with a new brewery because of the regulatory code in Idaho, which, according to Keough, could stifle job growth. "Microbreweries are a newer producer, and we ought to modernize and update our laws and promote economic growth and job opportunities."
