This week the Idaho Public Utilities Commission is holding hearings on the amount of alternative energy Idaho's utilities should be required to purchase and at what price, according to a story in the Idaho Statesman.

Among the issues presented to the commission is a request by Idaho Power for authority to manage wind power in times of low energy use to save ratepayers money for power the company does not need.
