House Bill 120

House Bill 120

by

February 10, 2017

Bill description: This bill establishes an inactive license for morticians and funeral directors.

Rating: 0

Does it give government any new, additional, or expanded power to prohibit, restrict, or regulate activities in the free market? Conversely, does it eliminate or reduce government intervention in the market?

This bill creates a new class of inactive license for morticians and funeral directors. It would allow an individual with an inactive license to reactivate a license without having to go through the original application process. (+1)

Does it directly or indirectly create or increase any taxes, fees, or other assessments? Conversely, does it eliminate or reduce any taxes, fees, or other assessments?

The bill includes no specifications for the inactive license, leaving it “to rules adopted by the board that may specify the terms, procedures and fees necessary.” If the board is consistent with other inactive licensing rules, applicants would pay half the full license fee. (-1)
