To obtain a Nursing Home Administrator license, applicants are currently required to receive a full year of training (estimated at 2000 hours of full-time work) under the purview of a fully licensed administrator.

HB 409 would reduce the length of this apprenticeship to 1,000 hours (estimated at half of one year of full-time work). Adjusting the training requirements will enable individuals to earn their license quicker and thus improve their earnings potential faster. Additionally, reducing the training requirements would bring Idaho in line with many other states require.
